On April 13, 2015, the City of Pomona Cultural Arts Commission approved the installation of an exciting, colorful Miripolsky mural entitled, “Pomonacopia,” at the School of Arts and Enterprise. Joy Mc Allister, Chairperson, stated that the mural will “highlight Pomona’s commitment to public art. It will be a dramatic arts focal point not only for the Downtown but for the entire community.” Watch a video of Andre and student artists at work here.

The Brewery is just off the 5 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles. Studios are open from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, April 25th and 26th. Admission is free and so is parking. While you're there, enjoy tasty food provided by Barbara's, the on-site restaurant. Come and support L.A.’s finest artists, take home some great art -- and say hi to Andre!
In 2013, to honor the 300th birthday of Father Junipero Serra, the founder of the first nine missions in California, a special decorative stained glass wine barrel was produced and art directed by
Shawn Barrett and world renowned stained glass studio Judson Studios, with drawings by Andre Miripolsky.
The barrel was brought to the Carmel Mission to be part of the 300th birthday celebration weekend, and was officially blessed by Bishop Richard Garcia on November 24, 2013. [See a video of the blessing of the barrel here.]
The commemorative artifact barrel will be displayed in several California Missions through 2014. It will eventually travel to Palma De Majorca to be blessed at the Basilica where Father Serra was baptized in 1713. It will then take up its permanent residence in the Father Serra Museum in Petra, Majorca, his birthplace. It was indeed a great honor and pleasure to be involved in such a profound legacy.
Andre's fabulous "Punkaphant" was created for the Elephant Parade, an organization devoted to saving the endangered Asian elephant. The Elephant Parade has had art events all over the world, including London, Singapore, Milan and Amsterdam. When Dana Point in Southern California was selected to be the site of the first parade in America, Andre was invited to decorate one of the thirty elephants. The Elephant Parade will be on exhibit from August 23th through November 17th. Learn more and see more photos at Andre's blog.

The Miripolsky Sharks have hit the Sunset Strip in spectacularly flashy style! See them through the end of March on two CBS outdoor billboards right above the entrance to the famous Key Club. Works from a select group of artists, including Shepard Fairey, Lilli Muller, Richard Owen Robinson, Billy Reynolds, and several others, join the Miripolsky Sharks in a continuously looping display of artistic bravado. Thanks to Andy Goodman for this very cool project! -- Thanks to Lilli for the photo!
